PREA Compliance & Reporting
The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) is a federal law established to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuse and harassment in confinement settings.
Coosa Valley Youth Services is fully committed to upholding PREA standards and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of sexual abuse or misconduct within our facilities.
How to report a PREA concern externally
Coosa Valley Youth Services takes all allegations of sexual abuse and sexual harassment seriously. Parents, guardians, youth, and third parties may report PREA concerns at any time including outside of CVYS. Reports may be made confidentially or anonymously.
To report a PREA concern outside of CVYS, you may contact:
Alabama Department of Youth Services (ADYS)
PREA Hotline: 1-855-332-1594
Reports may be made by parents, guardians, youth, or third parties.
CVYS will investigate all allegations of sexual abuse and sexual harassment on CVYS property or in CVYS programs, including third-party and anonymous reports. All substantiated reports of sexual abuse will be reported for outside investigation.
