Lewis Academy

Program Summary
Lewis Academy provides individualized, treatment plan-driven services for youth referred by the juvenile court. Through collaboration with staff, family members, and court officials, the program aims to reduce recidivism and divert youth from DYS commitment by addressing areas of risk and need.
Each youth’s treatment plan is developed with input from counselors, parents or guardians, teachers, and Juvenile Probation Officers. Progress is monitored through regular updates and monthly review meetings.
The program promotes a positive self-image through a structured environment focused on responsibility, growth, and respect. Youth must earn a minimum of 90 credited days and demonstrate consistent progress to graduate. If needed, youth may remain in the program up to 120 credited days.
Treatment Approach
To support each youth’s growth, Lewis Academy incorporates:
- Physical training and discipline
- Character education and team building
- Basic living skills
- Individual and family counseling
- Parent education
- Academic instruction
- Community service opportunities
Transition Support
After graduation, follow-up services are available to assist with reentry and continued success. These services offer support to the youth, family, and juvenile court to ensure a smooth transition back into the home and community.
