Detention Center FAQ's

When are visitations available? Visitation is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Each youth is allowed one visitation per week. Parents or guardians must call ahead to schedule a visitation appointment.

 

Can we bring outside food during visitation? No. Outside food is not permitted. Vending machines are available on-site for visitors.

 

How do I add money so my child can make phone calls? Phone accounts are managed through NCIC. Parents or guardians may contact NCIC directly to add funds for phone calls.

 

What items are authorized to bring for my child?

The following hygiene items may be brought:

•Shampoo

•Conditioner

•Toothpaste

•Deodorant

All items must be:

•Factory sealed
•In clear containers
•No pump lids allowed

Paper envelopes and postage stamps are also permitted. All items are subject to staff approval.

 

Can I donate items to the detention center? Yes, donations are accepted. Please call ahead for approval before bringing any donated items to ensure they meet facility guidelines.

 

What time should I arrive for visitation? Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time for check-in and security screening. Late arrivals may result in shortened or canceled visits.

 

What identification is required for visitation? A valid government-issued photo ID is required for all visitors.

 

Is there a dress code for visitors? Yes. Visitors must wear appropriate attire. Clothing that is revealing, offensive, or disruptive is not permitted. Staff reserve the right to deny visitation based on dress code.

 

What items are NOT allowed during visitation?

Prohibited items include (but are not limited to):

Cell phones

Bags or purses

Weapons of any kind

Tobacco or vape products

 

Can I send mail to my child? Yes. Mail must be sent in plain paper envelopes only. No packages, padded envelopes, or unauthorized items are allowed without approval.
